Orbitron is a geometric sans-serif that Matt McInerney drew for display use. He wanted graphic designers to have an alternative to faces like Eurostile and Bank Gothic, and his description jokes that these squared-off letters are the only ones to survive on spaceship hulls and space station signs. It was first published on the League of Movable Type and was remastered as a variable font.

This pack has four static styles: Regular, Medium, SemiBold and Bold. The original variable font runs further, from 400 up to 900, so the heaviest Black weights are not included here. There are no italics, and language support is basic Latin only.

Orbitron is made for game titles, tech logos, dashboards and film-poster lettering. Set long paragraphs in it and the wide, boxy letters get tiring, so keep it to short lines. A neutral face such as Inter works for body text, while Rajdhani or Exo 2 give a related but lighter feel for subheads.
